Low-level software developer



Title: Associate Engineer
Department: Advanced Networking
Location: Cambridge MA

BBN's Advanced Networking business unit is currently seeking an Associate Engineer. The individual will perform low level software, hardware, and systems integration. Working as part of a team developing advanced wireless infrastructure and novel routing and data dissemination protocols, support prototype hardware and software for demonstrations and system tests. A broad knowledge of wireless packet radio technology -- analog and digital transmission, antennas and propagation, Media Access Control protocols is highly desirable.

Skills required: proven ability to collaborate, communicate and learn in a product oriented environment; solve complex real-time software design and debugging problems. Development in C, C++ under Unix-like and Microsoft operating systems. Experience with scripting and low level programming. Knowledge of VHDL a plus.

BS in CS, EE, or related discipline.

Experience:
0-3 years SW engineering experience. Assets include LINUX, Linux RTOS, Embedded Systems, Microsoft OS, familiarity with data communications, network and system simulation, radio concepts and approaches.

US citizenship required.
