Software Sales Engineer: 29West Inc

29West is a fast-growing and market leading software (middleware

messaging) company with headquarters located in Chicago, with offices in New York, Chicago, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Job Description:

* Present technical descriptions of our products to prospective customers. Includes answering detailed technical questions and providing deep explanations of product internals.

* Assist customers with initial product evaluation and performance testing.

* Provide instruction and support for developers. Includes reviewing customer designs and providing advice and recommendations for optimal product use.

* Maintain strong customer technical relationships including tracking resolution of problems related to use of 29West messaging products and serving as customer advocate for development of new product features.

* Troubleshoot network and application problems.

* Provide architecture/design consulting.

* New York City based with some travel.

Background: (those marked with '+' are requirements)

+ BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or equiv) Experience

+ presenting to CTO-level people, engineering managers,

project/program managers, and programmers.

+ Experience supporting programmers (good communication, presentation

and interpersonal skills)

+ Strong background in TCP and UDP Networking protocols A background in

+ pub-sub messaging, either at a design or

implementation level

+ Multi-threaded programming experience in C or C++ required

- Socket-level programming experience a strong plus

- Market data and/or Financial Services experience a plus

- Programming experience in Java or .NET a strong plus

- Multi-threaded software experience a strong plus

- Experience working within a large corporation (ideally financial

services) would be a strong plus.
