The Global Vaccine Technology & Engineering department in West Point supports technology transfer and ongoing process improvement and troubleshooting for Merck's vaccine products. In the GVTE co-op assignment, you will support one of several high priority projects. Some examples of project are: optimize the automated inspection of a final vial product; perform laboratory scale tests of a manufacturing process to test proposed process changes; test a new technology for ensuring container integrity; assess a change in source for raw materials; or assist in troubleshooting, including determination of root cause and implementation of corrective action. This work will be done in a team environment in which the co-op will interact with personnel in different departments across the site. During the assignment the co-op will work with an assigned mentor to develop personal and professional skills.
Note that this is a paid co-operative assignment whereby a weekly stipend will be provided. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and if required by the student must be funded 100% by the student. Qualifications
