FACILITY INFORMATION
Marian provides a continuum of comprehensive care for its immediate community and many neighboring Central Coast towns. Founded in 1940, Marian Medical Center today is a 167-bed acute care facility with two campuses and also offers a 95-bed Extended Care Center. Marian has 1300 employees and 250 active physicians who treat more than 100,000 patients each year. Marian's specialty services include Marian Heart Center, Marian Cancer Center, Marian Home Health & Hospice Services, and Marian Family Birth Center. Marian also provides two community clinics focused on serving the disadvantaged, a multi-disciplinary Rehabilitation Center, a Health and Wellness Center, and an Urgent Care Center.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Director of Staff Development supports and assists staff and patients along the continuum of care from acute hospitalization to extended care. Coordinates staff to ensure updated competency in skills and technique necessary to care for resident's needs. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the Quality Improvement Program.

Qualifications:
Education: Current licensure by California State Board of Nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or allied field preferred. Within six (6) months of employment will obtain a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing. These must either be approved by the Board of Registered Nurses or be administered by an accredited educational institution.
Experience: One (1 year thisisrequiredtogetexp of experience in a long-term care facility AND one (1 year thisisrequiredtogetexp of experience planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing; or two (2 year thisisrequiredtogetexps of full-time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one (1 year thisisrequiredtogetexp of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in a long-term care facility. Knowledge of Title XXII, OBRA regulations and JCAHO standards for skilled nursing facility.
