Responsibilities: The Emergency Department Manager holds a leadership position, under the supervision of the Chief Nursing officer, and is responsible for managing Banner Lassen Medical Center's (BLMC) Emergency Department adhering to California Department of Health Services regulations established for hospitals, federal government agencies, and according to the JCAHO standards. This manager oversees the emergency department. Emergency department management activities include oversight of the nursing process, human resource management including recruitment, retention, terminations, and employee performance appraisal. Responsibilities also include development and implementations of methods to meet established professional standards, financial management, budgeting, staffing, resource management, discharge planning, performance improvement, and service excellence. The emergency department manager works collaboratively to accomplish these activities. This position demonstrates competence in the care/treatment of patients in the age groups served by the area(s) in which it functions. Service Excellence is demonstrated by consistently exhibiting the BHS Service Standards in the performance of this job.
Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current California Registered Nursing License. Current ACLS certification. Basic knowledge in computer operations to include word, and e-mail. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Banner Health's values, management expectations and service standards.
