Candidate will be part of a fast growing VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) team and work on the VMware VDM (Virtual Desktop Manager) product. The VDI group focuses on bringing security, manageability and mobility benefits of virtualization to enterprise desktops.
Position: Globalization QA Engineer Location: Palo Alto, CA Compensation: Highly Competitive Relocation: Yes Visa Sponsorship: Yes Benefits: Generous Package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Vacation, Holidays, Floating Holidays etc. Responsibilities As a Globalization QA Engineer, you will be responsible for i18n and L10n functionality testing for VMware's desktop products, such as Workstation/ACE, Player and Fusion. This includes test design, implementation, execution, debugging and automation. You will work closely with core QA engineers and developers to help ship localized products with very high quality. § Work with the cross-functional project teams to review project requirements, plans and specs § Review product documentation for technical accuracy § Design and develop i18n and L10n test cases § Implement and execute i18n and L10n test automation scripts § Design and perform manual i18n and L10n tests § Verify/File bug reports and work with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot problems § Participate in G11n design and code reviews § Contribute to technical G11n discussions § Provide occasional G11n technical training Required Qualifications: § 3+ years of experience developing UI automation using SilkTest OR Python § Working knowledge & In-depth understanding of i18n and L10n development and QA processes and methodologies § Experience working on Windows and/or Unix/Linux or Mac OS X operating system § Working knowledge of AppleScript, Perl or other scripting languages § Basic system administration knowledge (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware) § Fully bilingual in English and one or more of these languages: German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese and/or Simplified Chinese highly desired § BS/MS in computer science or equivalent highly desired Other Skills/Abilities § Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail § Strong written and verbal communication skills § Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work in a team § Ability to interact with cross-functional teams IMPORTANT
