Responsibilities:
The person we’re looking for will work well in a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals. This person will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the NetWorker product. He/She will use their demonstrated technical knowledge and design abilities to help other teams and developers guarantee technical coherence of product with each feature they develop. This is a highly-technical position. The ideal person will possess:

· Demonstrated C coding/programming and design skills,
· Has a demonstrated understanding of distributed applications and client server
· Has a demonstrated history of successful implementation/development in the following
o FC - target and initiator (a plus)
o SCSI protocol (a plus)
o File systems layer and lower - think block level up to FS level
o Windows OS internals (a plus)
o Linux drivers/OS internals
· Strong understanding of the principles of storage, networking and systems management
· Solve complex problems with sound, quality solutions, provide guidance and technical leadership, concurrent efforts
· Enjoy the unique challenges of modifying and improving existing code as well as "clean slate" implementation, and must be able to incorporate new ideas and solution to achieve better performance while extending the feature set.

Skills:
· Strong background in C coding, especially legacy product, stack codes. Along with Block level data movement and Block to filesystem translation
· Background in NDMP desired
· Strong demonstrated knowledge of multi-threading, RPC, TCP/IP and interprocess communication is a must.
· Demonstrated development background in storage area, including:
o Backup, restore, and cloning/replication of data, FC/ISCSI
o In-depth experience with current leading filesystems
o Experience with Cluster technologies
o Experience advancing Client Server technologies
· Experience implementing for large scale Enterprise wide distributed systems

· Experience implementing to solve for Systems Management and/or Network Management
· In-depth demonstrated operating system knowledge of UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and Linux) and WINDOWS
· Familiar with data deduplication technology
· Experience with IO Multi pathing technologies (PowerPath a plus)
· Understanding of SAN, DAS, NAS and Clustering
Tape Libraries, Storage devices, Disk and Tape
· Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (SOAP, XML, a plus)


Experience and Education:
· 4+ years Systems management or storage application programming experience
· Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
