Corporate Counsel Description Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., a global leader in business process outsourcing and IT services to commercial and government clients, is a Fortune 500 company with 75,000 employees worldwide, and looking to hire an in-house counsel to provide legal support to its state and local government solutions group operations. Title: Corporate Counsel Location: Fairfax, VA Reporting Relationship: Will report directly to Group Counsel in Fairfax, VA and will be a member of the ACS Legal Department based in Dallas, Texas. Minimum Professional Qualifications: - 5 years + legal experience with an emphasis on reviewing and negotiating RFPs, contracts, subcontracts, software licenses, teaming agreements, and related components
- Substantial experience with government contracting in the domestic state and local procurement marketplace
- Proven success partnering with operational business units (including Sales and Operations) and corporate service departments (Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Tax, Treasury, Facilities, etc.) to ensure appropriate risk analysis and transaction structuring
- Willingness to travel
- A commitment to excellence and quality of work
- Proven leadership skills and ability as a decision-maker
- Proven advocacy skills
Preferred Additional Professional Qualifications: - Experience with State privacy, ethics, and public records laws a plus
- Experience with mergers and acquisition a plus
- Experience with Federal procurement, Federal grant law, and the Federal Freedom of Information Act a plus
- Experience with managing litigation, including bid protests, a plus
- Experience with conducting internal investigations a plus
