Our client established in 1989 has become a market leader in the service of Contract Manufacturing from prototype through production assembly. They are an Electronic PCB Assembly company well known for SMT, Thru-Hole and Box Build Manufacturing for clients in the Automotive, Computer, Medical, Consumer and Telecom Industries. They offer full Turnkey and Consignment services. Our client is in need of a Surface Mount assembler in their facility just outside of Hartford CT.

Description:

Performs assembly, of surface mount assemblies as directed in engineering documentation. May perform Printing of boards, assembly or re-flow of surface mount assemblies. Set-up of equipment in preparation for operation. May require the use of simple computer skills to perform trimming operations as required. May require the use of simple mechanical hand tools or measurement tools in the performance of their jobs. Must be able to Monitor and schedule operations to optimize production efficiencies. Reports to the supervisor of SMT assembly.

Principle duties:

Reports to designated work area prior to the start of shift.

Organizes workload, and prepares for the start of the shift.

Reviews process documentation for any special requirements.

Ø Engineering Documentation, Shop Traveler

Performs loading of feeders per machine documentation.

Ø Verify marking & value of component on load list

Ø Verify quantity issued to job

Ø Load verified feeders per load list onto production machine

Performs machine set-up as required.

Ø SMT machine programs

Ø Paste information

Ø Reflow programs

Ø Fuducial set-up

Assemble to IPC - 610 Workmanship criteria.

Interfaces with supervisor and peers to resolve issues.

Interfaces with Production manager and Quality for resolution of Production or quality issues.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

Two years Experience Required.

Ability to read and understand blue books.

Ability to determine critical points of assembly.

Ability to identify component values.

Working Knowledge of IPC 610.

Simple understanding of machine operation.

Understanding of SMTA operations and methods.

Understanding of Quality standards of SMTA.

Understanding of "SAFETY" issues.
