IT Telecom Specialist



Spacelabs Healthcare is a leading manufacturer of patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anesthesia systems worldwide for hospitals and medical centers.

We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for an individual with a desire to be a part of our IT Team.

As an IT Telecom Specialist, you will work closely with all of the Infrastructure team supporting the various projects involving telecommunications and information systems. The telecom staff supports all telecom including basic networking, blackberries, cell phones, conferencing service, and billing for IT services.

  • Support the current Enterprise Voice systems.
  • Support the Enterprise Call Management System.
  • Support the maintenance of current versions of several different critical business systems. Primary operator for moves adds and changes on PBX and Audix, including systems in at all OSI locations.
  • Provide backup for Telecom manager when said manager is unavailable or busy with other tasks.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours to accomplish upgrades and maintenance with minimal effect upon productivity.
  • Must be willing to carry a cell phone and occasionally be available as needed for on-call support.
  • Will be responsible for maintenance and repair of all company printers and fax machines and Spacelabs Ecopy application.
  • Will also support Network Administrator in a variety of LAN applications including cross connects of network cables in the MDF/IDF and end user locations.
  • An understanding of station adds/moves/changes, call vectoring, call grouping, and hunt groups.
  • An understanding of a main distribution frame and wiring that connects PBX to the handset.
  • Ability to work in a time-critical environment and be decisive when faced with complex problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A fundamental knowledge of what VoIP is and how it relates to the network infrastructure.
  • Good organizational skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft excel, word with basic level skills with other Microsoft applications including but not limited to; PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Good understanding of cell phone and Blackberries' (User level and higher).
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Track It helpful.
  • Telecomm experience a plus.
