ACCOUNTANT POSITION
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
· Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
· Provides day-to-day maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers of the company, preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly operation and financial statements, and the reconciliation of bank statements.
· Controls fixed assets including depreciation and accrual to meet anticipated liabilities.
· Prepares financial statements for tax reports and consolidation.
· Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
· Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
· Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
· Establishes and modifies documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
· Devises and implements system for general accounting.
· Prepares managerial reports as required. Maintains all necessary documents and files pursuant to the applicable regulations.
· Reconciles various accounts.
· Performs Accounting Clerk and Bookkeeper duties as deemed necessary.
· Supervise payable and receivable processors for timely and accurate book keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree (B. A.or B. S.) in Accounting or Business Administration from four-year college or university & experience working in the accounting department of a manufacturing company is essential.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups o managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Must be proficient in using computers.
