Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, Inc. is a not for profit organization. Its dedicated and highly integrated teams pioneer evidence-based interventions that help individuals in difficulty to transition back into the community and lead successful lives. The agency operates 43 community-based programs and services in South-eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware to provide assistance to needy children, the elderly, the homeless and those with chronic mental health issues together with ex-offenders returning to society. Nationwide Volunteers of America offers more than 100 different kinds of services in approximately 300 communities touching the lives of more than 1.7 million people a year. The successful applicant for the position of Program Manager 3 will report to a Program Director and will become a vital part of their team. They will take responsibility for a diverse range of managerial matters including the coordination and overall supervision of Program Assistants, and other staff, who take "hands on" responsibility for the coordination and provision of services tailored to the specific needs of clients. Only those applicants with a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED should apply. They will be responsible for team member recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and activity scheduling. They will oversee on-going security and safety of clients including the supervision of all new client orientation procedures. They will complete performance evaluations and assist the Program Director in conducting on-site training and staff development programs. They will have strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to interact effectively with clients, other team members, and outside agencies. Applicants must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED together with a valid driver's license. Previous work experience in Human Services is necessary or a minimum of six months as a Volunteers of America Program Assistant. Applicants with basic computer experience will be preferred.
