Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

One to two years experience adjusting litigated commercial lines claims, including one year handling construction defect claims.

Strong knowledge of contractual and legal issues unique to construction claims.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Description:

Chartis has an opportunity for a Claims Specialist position in its Construction Defect division.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

Adjusting litigated and non-litigated construction defect claims, which includes: complex coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation of exposure to establish reserves and managing the legal aspects of assigned claims.

Documenting file activity on a timely basis and continually assessing all aspects of the claim.

Accurately detailing significant events and outstanding issues and also developing and executing resolution strategy plans to achieve appropriate claim results and timely closure.

Constant interaction with insured's, claimants and/or attorneys as needed to direct negotiations and achieve settlement.
