Sr. Systems Engineer


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will support the design, development, integrating, and testing of Unmanned Aerial systems with munitions, defining and allocating system, software, hardware, and test requirements and verification methods.
  • Will initially work on the development of small folding wing airplanes such as Switchblade and its variants.
  • Will work closely with a team of software, hardware, and test developers supporting existing programs such as Switchblade as well as Raven, Pointer, Swift, Dragon Eye and new SUAV products such as PUMA, Wasp, and other on-going Product Engineering efforts, which may later enter production status.
  • Will mentor other more junior Engineers.
  • A key area of responsibility will be safety reviews of our airplanes and flight systems with government agencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:

  • A BS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering, or related field or equivalent is required; MS is a plus.
  • 15+ years system engineering development experience is required.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with range safety, weapons integration, munitions test, relevant MIL stds.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with DoD munitions and safety procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of radio communication systems, GPS system including embedded computer interfaces, serial communications protocols such as RS232, Ethernet, USB, etc. is a plus.
  • Must have superior technical, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and have worked in a small team environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants cannot be hired until they are qualified to have such access.
