Airgas-West, Inc., (Airgas Inc.'s regional subsidiary responsible for Southern California/Southern Nevada/Arizona/Hawaii) has an immediate opening for a self-motivated Branch Manager at our location in Prescott, Arizona.
BASIC FUNCTION
Directs all store, high pressure cylinder filling, and distribution operations at respective location to include promoting sales, customer service, all aspects of branch safety, good housekeeping, inventory and overall operating efficiency.
ESSENTIALS:
• Provide consistent professional customer service to all walk-in, call-in, or delivery customer inquiries.

- Timely production reporting

- Ordering of bulk product
• Oversee distribution
- DOT Compliance
- Routing efficiency
- Vehicle maintenance and safety
• Oversee retail branch operations
- Cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summary, bank deposits are processed accurately on a daily basis.
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of back order report, open order report, PO expedite report and inventory.
- Ensure branch shelves and displays are kept neat and clean and are adequately stocked and properly organized thereby exposing customers to all new and featured products
• Oversee employee training in areas including product knowledge; company policies, processes, and procedures; and safety; ensures that all associates are trained to perform critical branch functions.
• Maintain and upgrade industry product knowledge on an on-going basis.
• Establish and manage cylinder and/or hard goods inventory levels for the branch.
• Supervise employees by providing performance advice and direction in conjunction with the Human Resources department and senior management.
• Perform periodic performance reviews of branch associates.
• Oversee general housekeeping of building, grounds and maintenance.
• Maintain a safe work environment; organize required monthly safety meetings and strictly enforces all company safety rules and regulations.
• Support the outside sales force and order desk personnel as needed in servicing and obtaining new business.
• Promptly report any accident or injury to their supervisor.
• Be punctual and comply with shift schedule.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
SECONDARY:
• Assist customers with equipment set-up, and demonstrate use as necessary.
• Ensure associate grievances are effectively handled.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of branch personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION, KNOW-HOW & EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or the equivalent necessary. College degree desired.
• At least two (2) years experience in a related managerial capacity.
• Minimum three (3) years of industrial sales or sales support required.
• Minimum of two (2) years cylinder filling experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year previous experience handling medical gases
• Minimum of one (1) year distribution/routing experience.
• Prior experience and knowledge of welding supplies and industrial gases a plus.
• Proficient computer skills, inputting and extracting data.
• Proven ability to work effectively under deadlines with little supervision and to complete a high volume of paperwork accurately and on time.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other associates, managers, customers and the general public.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram or schedule form.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, under pressure to meet deadlines, detailed-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
• Must be able to work flexible hours to meets customers' need and management expectations.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills a plus.

The USES category for this position is heavy. While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to stand and sit; use hands to finger, handle, grip, or feel; push, pull and reach with hands, arms while moving cylinders; walk, talk to and hear customers/co-workers as well as smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders. The associate will constantly lift up to 50 lbs and move more than 100 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment. The associate will occasionally be required to stand, bend, climb, or balance. Specific visions abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision
