Technical Consultant: AvMed Health Plans

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation, coordination, development and maintenance of the rating systems and work processes within the Underwriting department. This includes providing programming assistance for complex systems and in support of the Underwriting Department’s operations. This position will require communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help optimize Underwritings systems. Act as a consultant to end-users, business unit leaders, and project team members to ensure that the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and rating engine continue meeting organizational objectives. Maintenance and update of CRM plan library. Ensure the integrity of the large and small group rating engine utilized by pricing and underwriting. Coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve rate request issues. Maintain and update rate tables. Coordinate activities with Actuarial, Configuration and I.S. to implement rate changes in an accurate and timely manner. Recommend methodology changes that streamline processes and improve execution of rate changes. Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc report requests. Develop and maintain operational access databases to support the Underwriting Department. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related field. Three to five years of experience in database administration and/or data analysis. Minimum two years experience in a health or managed care environment.
