JOB DESCRIPTION

IsleChem, LLC is currently seeking a Chemist with previous experience working in the Environmental Laboratory setting. Candidates with experience analyzing wastewater and hazardous waste are strongly preferred.

This is a full time position, located on Grand Island , NY . The Qualified Candidate will work performing chemical analysis on organic and volatile field samples using various techniques. Experience in performing and handling wastewater and hazardous content is preferred. The employee will be responsible for the following:

• Perform routine analyses of organic and volatile samples using various analytical techniques (i.e. GC-MS, GC, gravametric)
• Prepare and standardize test / volumetric solutions, standard solutions and samples for various chemical and physical tests according to approved methods
• Must have knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain laboratory instruments, monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and records results, and often develop conclusions
• Properly dispose of sample preparations and solutions according to safety and environmental procedures
• Adherence to Quality Control program

JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Previous experience working within the Environmental Services field (+ 5 years) is required

-GC/MS Instrumentation experience required

-Strong analytical and technical writing skills

-Team player, willingness to work within a group of employees on a daily basis

-BS in Chemistry or related Life Science

-Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills are required
