Health Right, Inc a health plan dedicated to providing quality healthcare, disease prevention, health promotion, and case management services for the Medicaid eligible and other vulnerable populations has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Accountant.

Job Details: The Senior Accountant primary duties include, but are not limited to preparing journal entries and month-end close reconciliation and work papers in accordance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles and company policies and procedures; Maintain and timely update General Ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy; Performs special projects for management as necessary, including accounting research projects; Prepare and produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; Perform variance and trend analysis; Assist with financial audits & preparing financial statements; Assist with the quarterly and annual NAIC filings in timely manner; Work as part of a team in the creation and review of monthly financial reports for the management; Assist in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and operational metrics; Assist in the development of the annual operating plans, including financial budgets and forecasts and strategic outlook.

Position Requirements: 4 year degree in Accounting; CPA preferred, but not required; Four to six years of hands on accounting experience; Experience with NAIC filings preferred; Experiences using an Accounting Software package, Great Plains a plus; Strong working knowledge of Excel; Strong analytical and organization skills; Ability to think critically, solve problems and ability to work under pressure, independently with minimum of supervision and take initiative; Must have a sense of accountability and take ownership of assigned areas as well as manage time effectively to balance workload, prioritize and meet deadlines; Prior experience in managed care or insurance industry preferred, but not required; Ability to work in a team oriented environment and interact well with individuals.
