Position Purpose
Under the general direction of the Supervisor/Manager and Shared Governance Body, this position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process and the theory of human caring. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. This position is challenged to diagnose and treat human responses to health problems. The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards incumbent must possess a polite, positive attitude while dealing with customers of all ages, social, cultural and economic backgrounds. When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of the registered nurse (RN). The RN coordinates care between other professionals as needed. Intensive, continuous critical thinking is required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Nevada. Requires the ability to read, write and speak English.
License(s)/ Certification(s): Requires current State of Nevada Registered Nurse license and current CPR certification.
