BUSINESS BANKING CLIENT MANAGER
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for developing, managing and retaining high value (typically over $10,000 annual RPMS revenue) business banking relationships and bringing new business relationships to the bank. Focus is on service oriented culture and cross-sell/other revenue enhancing activities.
Responsibilities include: managing loan and portfolio credit quality, sourcing prospects and developing new customer relationships, providing financial advice to customers, selling appropriate bank products and services to those prospects and clients, identifying and successfully capitalizing on cross-sell opportunities and making appropriate referrals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Retains and expands relationships with existing customers.
- Prospects for and closes new business relationships.
- Grows net revenue year-over-year.
- Manages credit quality.
- Develops and implements an effective calling program for existing customers.
- Develops and implements a plan for sourcing prospects and developing new customer relationships.
- Manages assigned customer relationships and brings in appropriate specialists as needed.
- Resolves customer problems and acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions and subsidiaries in managing the customer’s relationship with the bank.
- Manages overall customer and portfolio profitability.
- Provides financial counseling, related to small business banking, to customers.
- Develops and implements relationship strategies for cross-selling bank products and services by satisfying customer needs through a full array of loan, deposit, cash management, asset management, investment and other appropriate bank products and services.
- Responsible for keeping current on small business lending policies, products and services.
- Actively ensures compliance with the Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas.
- Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position.
- Actively works with customers to understand each customer’s normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.
SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications are outlined below:
- Requires strong relationship management and business development abilities, well-developed analytical and problem solving skills, strong sales skills, and a thorough knowledge of credit and credit quality.
- Understands and articulates Small Business Banking strategies and philosophy.
- Must possess a broad knowledge of bank products and services that results in successfully capitalizing on all opportunities to cross-sell the bank’s products.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.
- Has well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills.
- Bachelors Degree in business-related field and a minimum of five to seven years related experience.
- Managed and grew a medium sized portfolio of 100-150 customers with average assets in their portfolio of $20 million and average deposits in the portfolio of $35 million.
- Prospects for and closes new business relationships and retains and expands relationships with existing customers.
- Effectively manages complex credits.
