Principal Specialist, Knowledge Resources Boston Scientific Corporation
Boston Scientific's Knowledge Resources team is seeking a Principal Specialist to lead its business Research & Analysis efforts. The incumbent in this position will take part in building a world-class team that thought-partner and provides analytical information support across Boston Scientific. The Principal Specialist is a senior member of the Knowledge Resources team who is expected to participate in the continuous improvement of the unit, and in defining and developing services to raise the value of information across Boston Scientific.
· Research Support (80%). Collaborate with internal customers to understand the context and objectives of research requests so to appropriately, efficiently, and cost-effectively leverage high quality knowledge and information assets to address them. Deliver clear and well-structured end products, including business memos, PowerPoint exhibits, and Excel outputs. Leverage areas of expertise to offers perspectives, guidance and next steps to resolving these issues · Knowledge Development (10%). Stay current on industry news and developments through an extensive network of contacts and other resources. Facilitate the collection and sharing of high quality information. Deepen areas of expertise by attending relevant meetings · Organizational Contribution (10%). Participate in a variety of project-based assignments under the direction of the Senior Manager. As Knowledge Resources is a start-up function, the incumbent should expect to participate in infrastructure projects including building a collection of high quality secondary research tools.
Requirements · BA/BS required. A master's degree in business, economics, library science or a relevant scientific discipline and proven experiences. Consulting firm information services experience a plus · Excellent problem solving skills · Strong qualitative and quantitative skills · Familiarity with the medical device/healthcare industry or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and analyze an industry · Track record of creatively retrieving, summarizing, and presenting research results to raise the value of information · Deep understanding of relevant secondary research tools (e.g. Factiva, Dialog, SDC, Bloomberg, Windhover, financials and public sources) and outstanding abilities to search them · Strong IT skills · Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-pace environment · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Good people skills, team orientation, and professional attitude Boston Scientific offers incredible opportunities to grow and advance, a dynamic work environment and an excellent benefits package.
