We are currently searching for a dedicated Local Market Car & Truck District Manager to work and manage locations in and around our New England District.
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will be responsible for Avis and Budget Car & Truck locations and will direct, lead, manage and develop an assigned district to operational success and financial profitability with management responsibility across the functional areas of operations, marketing, sales, maintenance, risk management and human resources.
The position will be responsible for but not be limited to the following:
- Develop, implement and direct district car and truck operating and sales plans that maximize revenue, grow market share, and increase profit within plan objectives.
- Manage P&L for district operations.
- Provide hands-on direction and guidance to district management and staff in day-to-day car and truck operations.
- Build and develop existing business opportunities by targeting areas with high growth potential.
- Direct district management to meet and exceed standards; specifically store performance, maintenance, sales, customer service, and safety/risk management.
- Set and execute ancillary sales strategies and initiatives.
- Partner with Local Market Sales Team to develop and acquire new business.
- Provide direction to truck maintenance staff to control costs, and develop distribution base across corporate locations, dealers, and licensees to maximize profits.
- Interview and hire operations staff, operators/dealers.
- Supervise, train, develop, motivate and evaluate the performance of managers. Train, develop guide and motivate operators and dealers. Coach staff and prepares them for current and future business demands.
- Visit and inspect locations within the district on a regular basis.
- Review and approve all new agency operators and dealers: Recommend closure of non-profitable locations.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- 60% travel required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree.
- 5 years of operations management experience required, with at least one year at the supervisory level.
The successful candidate must be willing to and/or possess the following:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Supervisory experience in a vehicle (car/truck) rental or related industry.
- Knowledge of car/truck rental/ reservations strategies and best practices.
- General business knowledge and experience to successfully lead multiple locations.
- Excellent management skills. Must be able to provide direction and support to a large number of staff.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to track all appropriate operational measures and to analyze and forecast operational performance results.
- Very strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate company vision as well as communicate accurate day-to-day operations information to a wide variety of audiences, including staff, operations management, independent contractors and vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. Ability to interact with both internal and external customers at all levels.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
