Staff Nurse Pain Management: BJC West County Hospital

BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health-care organizations in the United States, delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions. The Staff Nurse (RN) takes exceptional care of people by coordinating and leading the patient care team in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of the plan of care in accordance with the guidelines and standards of nursing care as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.

The Staff Nurse performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Pain Management unit or division as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the patient is addressed. This includes, but is not limited to the age of the patient served. The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with the physicians in examining and treating patients as well as the coordination of patient care through regularly scheduled pain management patient conferences.
