Job Details: About Us Advocate the proper use of medicine, advice medication therapies and monitor medication regimens while working among the top Southern California health care professional at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children's Hospital located in Los Angeles County . Counsel patients and health care professionals regarding prescription side effects and reactions, and provide recommendations for over-the-counter medications. Share your expertise with the local community on the latest directions and treatments for tobacco cessation, asthma, diabetes management and additional topics in group forums. About the Opportunity The Pharmacy Technician II provides technical and customer service support to the pharmacist. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II fills prescriptions and labels prescription containers. The Pharmacy Technician II is also responsible for performing all the job functions listed in the Pharmacy Assistant job description. Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician certificate issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. At least 6 months experience working as a Pharmacy Assistant. Must have completed training requirements for the Technician II position and passed the designated competency examination. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day. Ability to type at least 30 WPM with accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and health care workers. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
