Clinical Pharmacist Specialist: Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children's Hospital

• The Pharmacist Specialist coordinates specific clinical activities within the pharmacy department or is regularly scheduled to work in more than 2 pharmacy areas (vacation relief). A Pharmacist Specialist who coordinates clinical activities provides educational activities to patients and health care workers, provides a billable clinical service to patients and provides regular reports to pharmacy management regarding his/her activities. A Pharmacist Specialist who provides vacation relief coverage is competent to work as a staff pharmacist in each area where he/she provides coverage. Both classes of Pharmacist Specialist are able to meet the requirements of and regularly perform the duties of the Pharmacist job description. Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of California. Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent education and experience. ASHP accredited Residency in Pharmacy practice preferred. Acute care hospital experience in pediatrics (or equivalent education and experience) preferred. Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day. Ability to type at least 30 wpm with accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and health care workers. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
