Buyer
We currently have an opening for a Buyer in our A Pea In the Pod division. In this position you will project sales by style & color, process move & cancel orders according to projections & fluctuations in sales.
Responsibilities Include:
- Source globally to negotiate best prices & qualities
- Analyze sales & anticipate customer needs
- Implement markdowns & markups
- Partner with design team to create the line
- Shop competition & our own stores
- Manage company web site for assigned classes
- Track shipping on all orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Analyze selling inventory & prepare information for best seller meeting
- Train Assistant Buyers
- Maintain season-to-date & open-to-buy
- Attend fittings
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 5-10 years of Merchandising experience with a specialty-clothing retailer
- Product development experience
- Have managed classes with a significant number of SKU's
- Strong eye for fashion and sense of style
- Quantitative and financial skills
- Technical knowledge of garment design and manufacturing
- Sourcing and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
