Manufacturing Eng. Manager
Description
Purpose:
Strategic manager of multiple product lines, technologies, or specialized functions. Devotes a significant portion of time to managerial, leadership, and employee development of a complex or large department or staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality staff.
2. Manages Operations functional deliverables and champions technical excellence for product development.
3. Participates in and influences Technology Development Process (TDP) and Product Development Process (PDP) project development activities.
4. Develops and executes departmental budgets. Leads or represents function in periodic business metric reviews.
5. Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. Works with other managers to understand priorities and plans resources and time allocation accordingly.
6. Establishes and influences cross-functional relationships.
7. Initiates cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve production/engineering issues.
8. Prioritizes and drives execution of multiple complex department projects.
9. Sponsors and supports Operations Value Improvement Process (VIP) or Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects.
10. Develops departmental objectives and metrics and drives execution of them.
11. Champions engineering support of production initiatives and new product activities.
12. Drive partnerships with internal and external component customer to improve quality and business outcomes.
13. Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality
requirements.
Qualifications:
*BS degree in applicable field (engineering preferred, MBA preferred)
*9 years technical/professional experience (medical device or regulated industry manufacturing experience preferred)
*5+ years people management experience
