Forever 21 is one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing retailers in the fashion industry, currently operating more than 400 stores internationally.

Women's Contemporary Apparel Technical Designer

No Relocation Provided. Local Candidates. IMMEDIATE OPENINGS!

Skills and Requirements:

- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Technical Design directly with Woven & Knits, Denim & Outerwear, and Contemporary Junior Apparel. 5+ years Preferred.

- BFA in Fashion/Design/Technical Design or related degree is REQUIRED.

  • Extensive knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, sewing, technical drawing, measuring and fitting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Strong Technical Knowledge of all product categories: sweaters, knits, bottoms, jackets, etc.
  • Must have extensive pattern-making experience.
  • Conduct fittings with fit models
  • Ensure fittings and graded specifications are completed on calendar in a timely manner.
  • Draw sketches to illustrate desired pattern changes.

Technical Skills:

Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, Web PDM experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review & advise on technical design/garment construction.
  • Determine the best fabric & trim combinations, conduct fittings to meet standards.
  • Effectively communicate and follow-up to designers/vendors any technical changes and fit process as needed.
  • Ensure fittings & graded specs are completed in a timely manner.
