PLANT MANAGER

Aqua-Chem, a designer and manufacturer of high purity water systems, has a position available for a Plant Manager at our ISO 9000 certified manufacturing facility in Knoxville , TN.

The Plant Manager is responsible for a staff of 50 supervisors, skilled craftsmen, and material handlers as well as facility maintenance staff. Plant processes include fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, electrical assembly, paint, and testing. Directs and organizes staff and allocates resources. Reviews engineering designs for manufacturability. Prepares labor estimates in support of sales proposals. Implements processes to improve manufacturing efficiency. Trains staff to improve their capabilities. Integrates internal work processes with the company’s MRP system.

This position requires a minimum of 15 years manufacturing experience along with progressive managerial responsibility. A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific field is preferred. The following are key attributes of a successful candidate:

· Experience supervising custom manufacturing of capital equipment

· Solid experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

· Ability to prepare accurate labor hours estimates and forecasts

· Minimum of 5 years supervision of skilled manufacturing staff

· Demonstrated capability to implement manufacturing process improvements

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
