As the Senior IT Director accountable to the product management organizations in the enterprise, you will provide leadership to and be accountable for the performance of managers and/or the senior level business solutions architecture teams consisting of approximately 15 professionals. We are looking for a business specialist and technology generalist to manage, direct, and interface with business clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaboratively developing product strategies
- Determining technology capabilities that will be necessary to enable these strategies
- Defining programs, investment plans, business cases and projects
- Facilitating IT and other communities' knowledge and understanding of strategies, programs, and projects
- Driving architectures and application capabilities to deliver technology required to achieve strategic goals
- Managing a team of business solutions architects focused on product enablement
- Aligning technology solutions with business strategies, working primarily with senior management
- Proactively identify opportunities, conducting analyses, needs assessments, cost/benefit assessments and brokering other IS services
Principal accountabilities will be to drive the software engineering disciplines and activities including:
- Establishing program and project scope
- Identifying and engage all stakeholders
- Creating business vision, values, functions, and qualities
- Identifying solution alternatives and select the most appropriate solution
- Creating the solution architecture and design
- Ensuring the detailed designs, development, test plans and test results are in alignment with the overall design and produce the necessary and expected results

Qualifications

- 15+ years technology leadership experience
- 10 years healthcare technology experience
- 5 + in a senior healthcare technology management role
- 5+ years healthcare solutions architecture
- Managed multiple layers of management staff with at least 3 - 4 direct reports and 5 - 10 indirect reports
- Demonstrated success developing product strategies
- Demonstrated ability to engage with business leaders, C-level executives, UHG-IT key stake holders and external clients
- Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to meet business objectives
- End-to-end and strategic thinking able to drive execution
- Broad technology experience, including complex systems integration, infrastructure and application roadmap expertise
- Results-orientated individual with strong influencing, problem solving, negotiation, and a high level of emotional intelligence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and push back when necessary
- Ability to build and maintain strong, trusted business partner relationships
- Program Management skills

- Willingness to travel 25%
