A rapidly growing Division of Emerson Electric's Process Management Business Unit seeks quality candidates to fill the role of Human Resources Manager. The position will be based out of our Missouri City , TX Facility. Emerson Process Management is the world's leading supplier of control and measurement equipment for the process industries, including such brands as Rosemount, Fisher, DeltaV, MicroMotion, Daniel, Bettis, Shafer, El-O-Matic, Hytork, and EIM. Valve Automation has operations in the US , Canada , England , The Netherlands , Germany , France , Singapore , Malaysia , India , South Africa , and China .
The purpose of the Human Resources Manager is to provide leadership and direction for all Human Resource related issues and to assist the General Manager, and other members of the leadership team, in achieving plant goals.
Specific Accountabilities:
• Staffing - Coordinate the cost effective and timely sourcing, interviewing and hiring of all team members (exempt, non-exempt and hourly). Direct the orientation and assimilation of all new hires to insure compliance with company-wide programs and local rules and goals. Provide leadership in the attainment of EEO goals and the affirmative action program.
• Training - Identify the training and education needs of all team members and initiate effective programs or training efforts to address those needs.
• Safety - Ensure compliance of the plant safety process with corporate and government regulations and policies. Manage workers’ compensation.
• Team Member Relations - Be an active and available resource for all team members, addressing all employee relations issues in a professional and timely manner. Work in consultation with division HR as necessary to resolve issues. Coordinate the Employee Opinion Survey.
• Benefits Administration - Understand and administer all benefits programs, which apply to all team members and assist in the administration of those benefit programs to insure that team members comply with requests and also receive their benefits in a timely manner. Assure responsibility for the accuracy of all benefit paperwork including the open enrollment process and new hire benefit enrollment. Responsible for making recommendations regarding benefit cost containment.
• Compensation Administration - Understand and oversee all compensation related programs such as salary administration, bonus programs, pay for skill adjustments, etc. Prepare required annual Wage and Salary proposals in a timely manner. Provide recommendations to division HR on adjustments to the compensation schedule.
• Communication Liaison - Provide a point of contact for division human resources for dissemination of information and feedback to the division on plant and team member issues. Respond pro-actively to requests for information, monthly reports, etc. Develop and implement annual Communication Plan. Work in partnership with the general manager and local leaders to provide recognition to teams and team members, celebrate success and encourage pride in the work place.
• Administration - Organize all paperwork and record keeping to ensure timely and accurate compliance with corporate and governmental requirements (including Ethics Compliance Program, Headcount reporting, and Affirmative Action Plans.
Entrance Qualifications:
• BS/BA Degree in Human Resources Management or Related Field • 10+ years generalist experience with deep expertise in multiple HR functions: Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Staffing • Previous experience in acquisitions • Very strong background in employee relations and HR employment law • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment • BS Degree and higher • Experience in working with quality programs in a manufacturing setting • Experience with Union-Free Employee Relations; OFCCP audits or Action Plan; OSHA inspections • Effectively handle multiple priorities, and communicate well at all levels in the organization. • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and applicable local and federal laws or regulations. • Able to quickly build a rapport, confidence and trust of peers, employees, and executives. Able to acquire or solicit information regarding different subjects, analyze, select, and present solutions in a high quality, highly effective and acceptable forum or format. • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and work efficiently to see the work through to completion using sound business judgment. • Highly collaborative and able to produce high quality results in high-pressure situations and a dynamic environment • Exceptional business judgment and discretion, a consistently helpful and positive attitude. • The credibility and resourcefulness to establish a mid-level leadership role • Commercial acumen and analytical skills. • High level of flexibility, commitment and performance standards. • Strong Human Relations skills to assist with employee development and problem resolution and the ability to manage difficult and sensitive issues.
