JOB SUMMARY: Reports to the Financial Systems Director is responsible for the Cerner financial system across Cook County Hospital and Health Services. Oversees the completion of projects, system enhancements, applies vendor upgrades/applications support and conducts training and support of users. Perform analyzes on system and make recommendations to leadership associated to revenue cycle and system optimization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or in a Health Care related field is required.
· Five (5) years experience in healthcare financial systems – Cerner. Experience with Cerner Charge Services with experience in Cerner Tools: Org, Location, LOCAlias, CSMiscsetup, CSTierMaint and CSPricing
· Proficiency in the use of personal computer hardware and software packages to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Windows XP is required.
· Three (3) years experience managing large projects and/or implementationsand working with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Thorough knowledge of healthcare revenue processes: patient access, charge capture, documentation and coding, billing account receivable and cash collections. Knowledge of financial systems supported at the Cook County Bureau of Health Services. Ability to learn new financial applications and oversee the completion of tasks related to financial system functions. Ability and follow through to work with outside departments to improve quality and accountability and patient safety. Ability to support/train less experienced personnel in the uses of systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Written and verbal communication skills. Project management skills and the ability to work with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced stressful environment. Skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and other software and hardware packages.
