A rapidly growing pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and sells both branded and generic forms of ethical products for the treatment of a wide range of illnesses is seeking a Quality Control Lab Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Lab Manager, which will include the following responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control laboratory including setting and communicating priorities based on the production schedule.
Maintain knowledge of the potential impact of Quality Control activities on activities in other departments and effectively communicate this information to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Provide input to laboratory employees to interpret SOPs and test methods where instructions may not be clear.
Direct investigations into laboratory incidents and deviations (including OOS) and ensure that all investigations proceed in a logical, orderly and timely manner and that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are identified when necessary. This includes reviewing and approving all formal investigation reports.
Ensure that laboratory GMP systems are adequate and sustainable and are being followed. Implement solutions where deficiencies are found.
Provide formal and informal performance feedback to direct and indirect reports including disciplinary action when necessary.
Provide input on yearly departmental budget including headcount.
Provide input on employee development including promotion and salary increase recommendations.
Research and propose capital projects for the laboratory.
Develop and implement systems to improve laboratory GMP compliance and/or productivity.

The successful candidate will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific field. An advanced degree in science or business is preferred.
10 plus years experience in a GMP laboratory environment.
A minimum of 4 years of management experience.
Knowledge of concepts of management and leadership in a corporate environment.
Ability to understand and implement project objectives given timeline and resource allocations.
Ability to resolve conflicts between employees both within and between departments
