Direct Support Staff- Residential: TouchPoint Autism Services

TouchPoint Autism Services is currently seeking motivated direct support staff to assist our adult clients with daily living skills, hygiene and community outings. The majority of our shift openings occur during the afternoons and evenings. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities include:

· Providing direct supervision of clients and assuring of their well-being

· Implementing behavior development (BD) and person-centered plans (PCPs) and documenting progress

· Providing educational support to clients, including guidance for hygiene, health, dietary and social skills

· Assisting with health needs, including dosing medications

· Transporting clients (in company vehicles)

Qualifications:

General

· At least 18 years of age

· High School Diploma or GED

· Clean driving history and criminal record

Physical

· Able to stand for up to four hours at a time

· Able to climb stairs

· Able to provide other physical support and activities, as necessary.

· Able to see (past 20 feet and near vision), hear and speak clearly (in English)

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and crouch

Mental

· Able to speak and write clearly in English.

· Basic mathematics skills, including percentages and fractions for medication administration

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of previous experience and education in the human services or healthcare field.
