We are offering an exciting opportunity to lead a web development team supporting and implementing new initiatives on a major ecommerce web site for Network Solutions (networksolutions.com). Network Solutions is a domain name, hosting, email and security certificate provider and general servicer for Small businesses. We are looking for energetic, innovative and motivated hands-on manager for our web development team. Candidate must have strong communication skills, excellent people skills and be able to work in a team environment. Work responsibilities will include management of a 4 person web development team, coordinating work across organizations including Product Owners, Customer Experience Team, Marketing Analytics, other Development teams within Engineering and QA. Candidate will also participate in the requirements/analysis phase of new projects, review of User Interface design and Copy, development of web pages for new projects, and troubleshooting production problems and occasional support of production releases. Candidate will be responsible for delivering and supporting weekly minor software releases as well as monthly major software releases. Work is detail oriented and dynamic. Ability to adapt to new business directives and follow the Agile development methodology is a must.

Desired candidate must have experience either managing or leading a web development team. They must also be proficient in the following Technologies:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Linux/UNIX
  • manipulating the DOM
  • mySQL, , XML/XSLT
  • JavaScript/AJAX (Prototype, jQuery) framework
  • cross browser compatibility, and be willing to work within a multi-tier java-based e-commerce website in an extremely fast-paced Agile work environment.
  • Change Management software (CVS, PCVS)

Experience is also desired in the following areas:

  • PHP
  • JSP
  • Apache
