Physician Practice Coding Specialist: Saratoga Hospital

Assumes responsibility for coding and Charge entry of all professional fee visits using ICD-9 and CPT-4 classification systems. Reviews records to ensure optimum reimbursement based on medical record documentation.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in Health Information Technology, RHIT or CCS preferred. Knowledge of professional fee coding of evaluation and management (E/M) services required. At least two years of physician office coding required. Strong background in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease process. Working knowledge and skill in ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding principles. Meditech experience preferred. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 classification system. Ability to utilize Physicians Desk Reference, Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant and other appropriate reference materials. Coding Credentials Preferred. Computer experience required. Must exhibit strong communication skills.
