Inventory Materials Coordinator Qualifications: Education, Training, or Experience Required: High school diploma preferred. Knowledge of surgical terminology, supplies. Basic computer skills.
Skills or other Qualifications Required: Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, cooperative and able to follow instructions and additional skills and knowledge of equipment and instrumentation may be required. Demonstrate ability to follow standards for equipment operation and evaluate outcome.
Job Description: Responsible for providing coordination and distribution of supply flow for the cases. The processes include inventory management, ordering, restocking, proactively identification of supply/equipment needs, gathering the supplies needed for a specific case. Knowledgeable of surgical supplies andinstrumentation. Inventory Materials Coordinator will assist managers in gathering necessary information to complete CERFs, but are not responsible for completing the entire CERF justification as this is a manager's responsibility. Inventory Materials Coordinator is responsible to monitor central storage areas for outdated supplies and will only assist clinical staff in monitoring supplies in other areas within the departments. The clinical staff has primary responsibility for these areas outside the central storage area. Inventory Materials Coordinator will support clinical managers in gathering information or procuring supplies, but clinical managers are responsible to make clinical judgments concerning supplies and equipment. The clinical managers will additionally be responsible to communicate to the clinical and medical staff regarding these issues.
