- Participates in a team environment to design, implement, integrate and test embedded software for implementation in software-defined radio applications.
- Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Cooperates with electrical, RF engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
- Develops system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
- Understands basic principles and technical concepts; position provides opportunities to apply theory to practice.
- Creativity in problem solving is expected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Math)
- 1+ year academic or job related design, implementation and test of large software systems
- 1+ years academic or job related experience with C/C++
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with software-defined radio implementations, including SCA
- Experience with CORBA tools such as OrbExpress
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, such as QNX Neutrino
- Familiarity with code and process management tools such as SVN and DOORS
- Understanding of disciplined software development process (CMM)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to quickly familiarize self with and modify existing software to add new capabilities.
