Software Engineer - Embedded Linux

Core responsibilities:

- Track, evaluate, and integrate code from the open source community and from vendors offering embedded Linux software.

- Work closely with both hardware and software teams to design and develop a platform that meets the needs of our applications.

- Bring up Linux on new hardware platforms. Adapt/develop device drivers.

- Contribute to the system architecture and product evolution.



Requirements:

- BSCS/BSEE or MSCS/MSEE
- 10+ years of experience in design, implementation, & debugging of software in C/C++
- 5+ years of embedded systems experience
- Extensive System bring-up and integration experience
- Experience developing & bringing up embedded systems on Linux.
- Linux device driver development experience.
- Experience with networking protocols on Linux (IP, UDP, TCP, ARP, HTTP, RTP, RPC, SOAP, SNMP)
- In depth knowledge/experience with Linux kernel.
- In-depth knowledge of PPC computer architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Linux development tools
- Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills in an embedded system.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other individuals in groups such as engineering, test, customer advocacy, and product management.
