This position is accountable for performing a variety of more complex echocardiographic procedures with expertise, using ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic quality echocardiographic studies under a variety of conditions. Performs EKG's, holter and multi-event monitor applications as requested. Assits the Cardiologist as required. Works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.
Participates in the rotation of on-call duties and Outreach Clinic involvement with other cardiac Sonographers as assigned. Increasingly acts as a resource to the Department.
REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires: a minimum of three years pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Prefer 5 years of increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job;
- High School Graduate or GED; Technical/Vocation Training preferred
- BLS
- Active registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in one or two specialties (pediatric echo registry is required)
- Cardiology Technology Certification (CCT) is preferred
- Exposure and training toward becoming proficient at routine Fetal echocardiography.
- Bilingual skills desirable.
