Engineering Manager – Super Alloy Metals

Our client, a manufacturer of high performance metal alloys, is seeking a Engineering Manager for their staff in a Highly Desirable Southern State. The company is enjoying a major increase in sales volume due to new product introductions, new customers and expansion of the existing product lines.

The Engineering Manager is a key leadership team position as the company ramps up its sales activity and market penetration. The main focus of the Engineering Manager is forward-looking and cocentrates on the preparation and execution of the strategic technology plan of the business. The incumbent will identify, develop and advise on key product characteristics to sustain and expand the product portfolio for existing applications and for new applications as customer needs evolve as the technology changes. Responsibilities will include consultation with team members concerning planning and technology issues and preparation and delivery of technical presentations to promote products and business objectives. Additional responsibilities for the Engineering Manager will include:

• Monitor staff product evaluation activities
• Interface directly with customers to support the sales staff and monitor customer requirements
• Manage relationships with industry technical societies
• Select, train and develop subordinates

Requirements

• BS or advanced Degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials or other relevant disciplines
• 7-10 years of relevant technical management experience
• Experience leading R&D or other technical projects
• Working knowledge of welding applications
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing or equivalent practices
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and team work skills
