Department Overview

Fixed Income Technology is responsible for the development and support of all front, middle and back office applications and systems that are used to support Fixed Income business globally. Systems supported are a combination of In-house development and vendor applications, using a variety of technologies. The Fixed Income team is comprised of over 200 staff in London , New York , Tokyo and Singapore .

The Fixed Income business aims to be one of the leading liquidity providers in the derivatives and the Government bond markets, and to offer an integrated sales, trading and research service to the client base comprising investor business, corporates, financial institutions and hedge funds. The product offering includes Government Bonds, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, interest rate options & swaptions, FRAs and caps / floors.

Main Function
RAD- Excel - VBA/SpreadSheet
Spreadsheet/ VBA Application Development & Support, Developing & Supporting underlying infrastructure components. Working directly with Front Office Traders, Product Controller, and Middle Office.


Main Duties
  • Excel RAD to traders' requirements
  • Extension & Development of standard tools for general use using Excel, VBA, C#
  • Support of RAD sheets (not generic Excel support) Infrastructure development & support (e.g. Overnight batch processes)
  • Product Lifecycle tasks (e.g. Testing, Documentation, Rollout).
  • Liaise with clients/customers/line manager to ensure we meet requirements
  • We are looking for a self starter with commitment & drive to progress. This is an ideal opportunity for an applicant to prove themselves and develop their resume up to the next level. They will be exposed to a very deep stack of technology with good front office exposure, giving them a good all round exposure in the bank.


Person Requirements
  • Excellent Excel/VBA. Strong Excel & VBA/VB skills are a must for this role.
  • Strong Interest Rate Derivatives Risk and PnL
  • General Windows OS experience/knowledge
  • IT degree strongly preferred.
  • C# preferred
