To learn more about Palo Alto Medical Foundation visit our website at www.pamf.org. The Urgent Care Manager will manage, supervise, and coordinates the operational activities of assigned departments. Provides leadership and assistant to staff. Maintains an organizational awareness and maintains written policies and procedures for significant department functions. Managers employees effectively and approves LOA and vacation. Management of financial resources for supplies, repairs, labor and expense budgets. Responsible for interviewing and selections of new employees and ensures adequate staff by making staffing adjustments as needed. Monitors employee performance and conducts coaching, counseling and performance evaluations, with Director's approval. Anticipates, identifies, and managers problems and implements solutions which are department specific. Maintains operational budget, with Director and site Physician Leader. Conducts department meetings and is a resource person for the department. Ensures orientation for staff and communicates clinic information to staff. May manage multiple departments or sites. Requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current California registered nursing license; five years of experience in managerial role preferred; minimum one year experience in UCC and/or Emergency Room management required; ACLS/BCLS preferred; IV Certification preferred. Exemplary organizational and communication skills; adapts well to changing situations and performs mutliple tasks; ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff; excellent computer skills; ability to perform the responsibilities of an RN as documents in the RN scope of practice; maintain knowledge, understanding and support of clinic policies and procedures.
