POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Standard Hours: 12-Hour Various Shifts, weekends included.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One-year experience in acute care experience required.
SKILLS: Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice nursing in California. Completion of Critical Care Course, Current CPR, and ACLS certification required.
WORK CONDITIONS: Walking, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting in patient care areas. Able to do work in spite of frequent interruptions. Ability to read work product of others, computer/monitor screens, computer printouts. High exposure to communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens, rare exposure to toxic substances such as radiation, nuclear isotopes, chemotherapeutic agents. Performs mathematical calculations. High level of concentration and attention to detail. Ability to work with a team, prioritize work and make decisions regarding patient care, implements nursing actions independently, interacts appropriately with others. Computer terminal work. At times the job can be demanding and highly stressful, requiring the capability of remaining calm and in control. ICU nurses need to be able to make critical care decisions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs, appropriate to patient age. Assists with managing the patient care administered by other members of the nursing staff. Assumes responsibility and accountability of total patient care and relief charge nurse duties. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages. Performs other duties as assigned.
