A Network Planning Engineer will have experience with software and hardware intensive development efforts. Candidate should have domain knowledge of communications technology (RF, networking and signal processing). Familiarity with standard Systems Engineering processes and lifecycle knowledge of software engineering, CM and test engineering processes. Must be proactive and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams. The requirements of this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Strong understanding of IP routing protocols
- Strong understanding of Wireless Networks
- Strong understanding of RF radio networks and Ad Hoc networking
- Working knowledge of IP-based networks and an understanding of IPv6, VPNs, MPLS, and IP mobility are required.
- Strong experience working with CISCO routers (OSPF, EIGRP protocols)
- Ability to get in the lab and hit the ground running
- Basic understanding of HAIPE devices
- Understanding of timing and synchronization sources and distribution networks is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of military tactical and strategic networks is desired.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering M.S or PhD in Computer Engineering is desired.
- A minimum of 9 years experience in the following will also be required:
- RF radio networks and Ad Hoc networking
- IP-based networks and an understanding of:
- IPv6
- VPNs
- MPLS
- IP mobility
- CISCO routers (OSPF, EIGRP protocols)
- SONET and OTN technology and architectures
- Microsoft Office suite tools
- Willing to travel 25%
Preferred Additional Skills:
