Primary Duties & Responsibilities : Act as the systems engineering representative to a mechanical engineering and ship integration product team for the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) launch and recovery mechanisms and ground control equipment. The Candidate is expected to survey existing products and derive system requirements defining the integration of these products on new platforms and in new environmental conditions. The candidate will participate in concept development and conduct formal trade studies to recommend customer solutions. Follow on tasks include defining the test procedures and evaluation criteria as well as conducting safety assessments and risk analyses projects under consideration.
Knowledge - Skills & Abilities Required : The candidate must be skilled at communicating technical ideas effectively through writing and be comfortable presenting ideas through various media (email, PowerPoint slides, and technical papers) to a variety of audiences. Must have experience in the following subject areas: - Writing system level requirements
- Writing component requirements specifications to procure items from third party vendors
- Conduct of peer reviews and formal design reviews
- Writing and analyzing test plans, executing test procedures and evaluating test results
- Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to obtain a security clearance if required
Desired experience or training: - Experience with certification of systems for shipboard use
- DOORS requirement management software
- Familiarity with structure and mechanism design
- Microsoft Project software
- Experience conducting risk and safety assessments
