Job Description
Sales Engineer, Siemens Metering Services
Duties:
• Participates in customer-facing meetings to align strategies and determine business and technical requirements that will be used in developing solutions or solution alternatives.
• Develops and performs customer demonstrations promoting product features and benefits, both introductory and evaluation demos, including development of scripts, working with the technical and Sales teams to customize.
• Prepares and delivers technical portions for sales proposals, analysis, and design architectural overviews for existing and potential customers.
• Responsible for driving solutions by supporting Sales teams in defining, positioning, designing technology solutions.
• Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements.
• Presents proposed solutions directly to customers and gaining acknowledgement of value and commitment to move forward in the sales cycle.
• Engages in detailed power, cooling, and space assessment of customer's current and proposed IT environments.
• Helps prepare cost estimates by reviewing RFPs, studying technology platforms, drawings, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Work closely with the sales team on RFP responses and proposal preparations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Frequent travel for sales meetings, conferences, and training.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong working knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure/Meter Data Management systems preferred. 5+ years software sales engineering and demonstration experience required.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical area
• Experience in AMI/MDM systems strongly preferred, utility experience preferred
• Software engineering and sales experience required
• 5+ years in Systems Engineer, Sales Engineer, or IT-related field
