Schedule: 12 hour shifts, variable, every third weekend as volume dictates
Campus: Butterworth
Job Summary: Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group child life services provided to pediatric patients throughout the Radiology department in a manner which promotes age appropriate growth and development. Provides diversional and therapeutic play activities and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide an integrated approach. Assists in the interviewing, orienting, and evaluation of all volunteers/interns assigned to the Child Life Program and develops a work plan to direct services provided by the Child Life Assistant and volunteers.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Child Life Science, Child Development, Child Psychology, Early Childhood Education, recreation Therapy or other related degree. completion of 480 Child Life Internship under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist" and Professional / Provisional Child Life Specialist certification preferred.
Other: Time management and organizational skills required. Written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to make quality, independent decisions. Ability to instruct and direct the work of others. 80% of time spent standing and/or walking. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Able to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
