George Zimmer feels that Tailors are often the most under-appreciated professionals in the men's clothing industry. This is not the case at the Men's Wearhouse, where we consider our Store Tailors to be "the backbone" of our business. Our tailor shops offer an excellent work environment that is clean, well-lit, equipped with high quality tailoring and pressing equipment - and full of a lot of appreciation.

Our tailors are responsible for:

- Ensuring the proper fit of garments

- Answering customer questions

- Marking garments for tailoring

- Sewing needed alterations

- Pressing garments

If you join our team as a Tailor you can expect to work in a friendly and respectful "team-oriented" atmosphere that is both challenging and fun.

Tailors work closely with Managers, Wardrobe Consultants, and Sales Associates to provide a positive, unique, fun shopping experience for our customers. The role of a tailor is primarily insuring the proper fit, marking, altering, and pressing of garments. Tailors also contribute to the operation of a store by participating in the creation of a high-quality and respectful work environment by:

- Maintaining an open dialogue with management

- Helping other team members

- Helping to keep the tailor shop clean and organized

- Making sure that customers are properly sized

- Having good communication with salespersons

- Being proficient at marking garments

- Being proficient at sewing garments

- Offering new wardrobe ensemble suggestions

Compensation and Benefits
