Located in Modesto, Memorial Medical Center opened on May 1, 1970. Licensed for 313 acute care beds, the facility is part of Memorial Hospitals Association, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in greater Stanislaus County. Memorial affiliated with Sutter Health in 1996 and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, skilled nursing services and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center, Memorial Heart Institute and Medi-Flight of Northern California.

Under the general direction of the Safety & Security Manager and direct guidance of assigned supervisors, the Public Safety Officer is responsible for providing for the safety and protection of patients, employees, visitors, medical staff and the physical assets of the Association. Respond to emergencies, codes and calls for assistance. Conduct assigned inspections, investigations, patrols, escorts and reports.

High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess basic keyboard and functions proficiency. Demonstrated knowledge in Civil and Criminal Law. No criminal convictions other than minor traffic violations. (Drunk driving, hit and run, reckless driving, exhibition of speed are not minor violations). Current and valid California BSIS Guard Card. Must be able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County. Must possess California drivers license and, upon request, provide proof of liability insurance. Current and valid Heartsaver, or any BLS course equivalent, CPR/AED certification by MHA approved instruction within six months of hire. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent public relations skills. Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job. Ability to effectively and productively work varied shifts and/or additional hours. Preferred Qualifications: College level education in the area of Criminology, Administration of Justice, or industrial Security. Hazardous Materials Certification of First Responder Awareness or Operations.
